First image is from 2008/9. The second is my remake of it. I took inspiration from a collection of anime artists (there are any specific ones exactly that I looked at...) that have this sort of...very clean, simple style. The theme that I picked up on, is this sort of emphasis on color, planes, and graphic shapes.
I think I over did the shading and everything though. It's still not as simple as I'd like it to be. But it's still a confusing, painful yet fun experience all the same. :)
